UPDATE: Last night was the Gala auction where my mother's mask was displayed.
It made $3,900 for the Blood Bank and was the highest bid mask.
Congrats to my mother! I hope she gets a lot of work from this. XD!

Pacific NW Indian style -- Handcarved mask from alder plank with copper inlay.
This mask was created by my talented mother: Amanda. It was created for the Blood Bank for the 'Faces for Life' auction that goes on this year to raise money.
I wanted to share it with the people on DeviantArt because my mother's talent NEEDS to be shown.
She has only been carving for about a year [most of it was spent on a 5ft piece that is on display at a library currently, I will get a picture in three months] and smaller works.
This is her first commissioned piece.

What she wrote about the mask.
The mask depicts the story of the Raven who steals the light from the Shaman's box and takes it to the sky where it becomes the sun bringing light and life to this world. Like the sun the Blood Center brings hope and many more days of life to individuals and their families.
